Doina
Fischer and Isabelle M Casa founded Earthbeat in Seville Spain
in 1999. This Performance company is dedicated to the interaction
between horse and various types of dance disciplines. For
example, up until now Flamenco, a passionate and mysterious
Gypsy dance, with its roots in southern Spain, has been the
pioneering rhythm of choice. This style of dance was chosen
first because of its uncanny similarity to the beat of the
horse.
In
the first show, "Paso Flamenco", performed by Earthbeat's
founders Doina Fischer and Isabelle M. Casa, the audience
was captivated by the total domination of the horse through
the beautiful "zapateado" or "footwork"
of the dancer. A new partnership was formed.
It
is the future plan that all forms of rhythm through dance
will be explored i.e. afro drums, rhythm and blues, salsa
and samba to name a few, to its fullest potential.
